Eel Release Day number 3

Pupils from Hill Primary Academy (Thurnscoe) released around 3000 elvers into field pools at RSPB Old Moor on Thursday 11 July.  Most of the pupils were brave enough to try the smoked eel that was on offer!

Eel Release Day Number 2

Well done to Pennine View School from Conisbrough and Montagu School from Mexbrough for relelasing around 5000 eels in to Denaby Ings Nature Reserve.  The staff from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust were on hand to guide us to the release site. Most people seemed to prefer having the eels in their hands and then releasing them!
