Bentley Mill Dike (Highfields Lake) – Canopy Thinning

28-03-23 10:00 - 13:00
Highfields Lake Park
Address: Cannot determine address at this location.

Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we work to thin the Canopy above the Bentley Mill Dike (also known as Langthwaite Dike) just before it flows into Highfields Lake. All abilities welcome!

Why: This will allow more sunlight to reach the stream and will therefore allow more plants to grow and provide more nutrients for invertebrates in the river which intern will provide food for fish.

How: We will be using a pole saw to take down branches from the trees and will then be cutting up the brash on the ground to be taken away by the council.

When: We will be meeting on the site at 10am and finishing at 1pm with a break for refreshments in the middle. We will be meeting on the road and talking a short walk to the site.

Address: on the road close to 14 Central Ave, Woodlands, Doncaster DN6 7RU
