As part of the ‘Great Doncaster Lesstival’ the Danum, Gallery, Library, and Museum are hosting a FREE event for all ages to explore links to nature and thrifty sustainable ideas to support the environment.

Join us on Saturday 30th November 11am – 3pm to enjoy a mix of talks and activities.

A facilitated discussion with Don Catchment Rivers Trust looking at environmental themes such as climate change and rivers. This session will explore ideas, experiences, and feelings surrounding these subjects and what actions we can take.

    Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we go on a festive walk along the River Don and the Canal in Doncaster. This walk will be a distance of roughly 4.7 miles. All abilities are welcome however we are likley to be walking through feilds with livestock in them so dogs are not advised to come on these walks. We will also have to cross some stiles on this walk. 

    Where: We will be meeting in the car park at St Oswalds Church in Kirk Sandall where we will also finish the walk (please note that parking is limited so please share a vehicle where possible or use public transport).     When: We will be meeting at 10:30am and will finish around 1:30pm (please note this is a rough estimate and this walk may be longer or shorter) on Tuesday 17th December 2024.

    What to bring: Please wear suitable clothing for the weather and for walking. The surface is mostly unpaved soplease ensure you bring walking boots or shoes to wear. You will need to bring along your own water and sandwich if you would like one. We will also provide a warm drink at the end of the walk. 

    Public Transport Information: Kirk Sandall Railway station is only a short walk from the start point of walk. There is a train from Doncaster at 9:05am which should arrive in Kirk Sandall by 10:11am which allows pleanty of tme to walk to the meeting point. Alternativley you can catch the number 474 bus to Barnby Dun and get off near Kirk Sandall Station.
