Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we work to reinstate the circular footpath around Hexthorpe Ings. If we finish this we will create glades in the wet woodland to ensure we can have a more diverse range of species on the site. This day is a part of the All Hands on the Don project.
When: Wednesday 13th November 2024 10am – 3pm

What to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day, however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day, but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] or contacting Volunteering Officer Anthony Cox. Please bring your own packed lunch if you would like to stay for the whole day.
What are we doing: On the day we will work to cut through vegitation around the Hexthorpe Ings to create a footpath for members of the public to use in the future. We will also be cutting back overgrown vegitation on the existing footpath. If we finish the footpath we will work to create glades on the site which will alow the public to enjoy seeing the wetland and will encourage a more diverse range of species to use the site. We wil do thuis by clearing reas of vegitation around the site.
