Newfield Spring Woods (Moss Valley) – NFM Volunteer Day (must book)

27-04-22 10:00 - 15:00
Newfield Spring Woods
Address: Cannot determine address at this location.

Tasks: natural flood management – leaky dam maintenance

Timing: 10am – 3pm

The day will involve tasks such as maintenance of the leaky dams and mini-dams installed on previous volunteer days in the woods that help to slow the flow of storm waters and building new mini-dams. This involves activities including clearing the debris and silt that has built up behind the dams following storms and increasing the height of mini-dams by sawing and fixing small timbers across ditches.  Please do join us if you like getting your hands dirty and having a good work out! Long sleeves, trousers and waterproofs are recommended. All other equipment will be provided.

There are a limited number of spaces available so you will need to book on to sessions in advance.
