Wildlife Wednesday – Moss Valley

On these summer sessions we will be tackling Himalayan Balsam in the Moss Valley. Locations for these days will vary so please email [email protected] for more information.

Timings: We will be meeting at 10am and finishing at 3pm.

What to bring: Please wear long sleeves and trousers to avoid being nettled. If you are staying for the full day please bring a packed lunch. We will provide warm drinks (Tea, coffee ect) and some biscuits.

    Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we help to clean up the Rother catchment along Barlow Brook.

    When: Thursday 25th April 2024, 10am – 1pm with a refreshment break midway through.

    Where: Please meet on Carrwood Rd, Chesterfield S41 9QB (between Cobnar Wood Close and Just Joy’s Café, on the road bridge over the Barlow Brook).

    What to bring: We will provide all necessary equipment and refreshments. Please wear is appropriate outdoor clothing (waterproof, long sleeves and trousers) and sturdy shoes. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] or contacting task leader Charlotte Landry-Jennings.

    Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we work to remove litter from the Shirtcliff Brook in Smelter Wood, Handsworth

     

    When: Thursday 2nd May 2024 10am – 1pm

    What to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] to ensure we have your size. 

     

    What to expect: We will be walking along the paths in the wood, collecting litter and brining it back up to the road. We will have a break at 11:30 am for refreshments and biscuits, provided by DCRT.
