Join us for a particularly unloved bit of the Don Valley Way. We’re going to be clearing up the fly-tipping in this area as well as improving access by cutting back some of the vegetation along this section of footpath.

All equipment will be provided but please wear warm clothes, sturdy shoes and bring waterproofs. We will bring the tea, coffee and biscuits! We offer volunteer expenses for public transport and vehicle mileage.

Explore the ancient Canklow Woods in Rotherham on this wild day out for nature enthusiasts, children and families!
Visitors can discover colourful mushrooms and sensational toadstools with ecologist, Julie Riley, who is leading a guided walk around the historical woodland, starting at 10am **Walk starting 10am from the entrance on Lawton Lane lasting around 1hr30min **
There will also be bush-craft activities, games and nature crafts between 11am-3pm.

There will be no toilets available at the event. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear appropraite clothing and footwear!
The Canklow Woods Fungi Foray is a free event, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of Don Catchment Rivers Trust’s ‘Living Heritage of the River Don’ Project.
