    Meeting at 21:00 to start at 21:10. Please arrive promptly as surveys must begin 20 minutes before sunset. We will be meting at the end of Guiltherwaite Cresent in Canklow. The survey will be in Canklow Woods and will involve a walk so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. We hope to be finished around 22:30. We have limited spaces so booking is vital!     Please wear suitable outdoor clothing including long trousers, long sleeves, sturdy boots and waterproofs if necessary and wellies if you have them.

    Don Gorge Day 2018

    Join us for the annual celebration of the Don Gorge

    • Community Stalls with arts & crafts, activities and more by the Lock House
    • Lock Demonstrations at 11am, 12am, 1pm and 2pm. Open the lock gates and guide the canal boat through using the tower control room!
    • Free boat trips on the Wyre Lady at 12, 1 and 2pm (boarding at the back of the Boat Inn)
    • Let’s Fish taster sessions (for under 18s) at the visitor moorings. Advance booking through our eventbrite page only FULLY BOOKED.
    • Bush Craft with Living Adventure
      10:00 – 11:00 – Fire craft
      11:00 – 12:00 – Camouflage and concealment
      13:00 – 14:00 – Shelter building
      14:00 – 16:00 – Wide games
    • Award-winning Open Cottage Garden & Plant Sale (all donations go to the Don Gorge Community group)
