Find out about some of the winged visitors to the cemetery, when the sun goes down. We will be using bat detectors to listen to the bat’s calls as they hunt for insects!
Sally Hyslop will be leading a Bat Walk in Spital Cemetery and for a short way along the Rother and Hipper Rivers. Booking is essential as numbers are limited. Please email [email protected] to book.
We will meet at the Tool House (53.232169, -1.415337) which is a short distance inside the cemetery from the top gates (53.232770, -1.414984). Parking is available on Cemetery Road and inside the cemetery along the avenue of lime trees which lead from the Top Gates to the Chapels. Please wear sturdy shoes. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
This walk is free but donations to the work of the Friends of Spital Cemetery would be gratefully received. Refreshments will be available.
