SUMMARY:Volunteer Training: Introduction to Hydromorphology
DESCRIPTION:Hydromorphology is the study of the physical characteristics of rivers and how they interact with water flow and sediment transport. \nIt plays a crucial role in river restoration by helping us understand how rivers function naturally\, and how to restore them to a more natural state.  \nThis training delivered by Sam Austin from the River Restoration Centre and will be a full day introduction to the subject. \n  \nWhere: Aizlewood Mills\, Nursery Street\, Sheffield with an a river visit \nMeeting at: There are some car parks in the area\, however parking nearby can be tricky\, so we really do recommend public transport\, walking or cycling. The training centre is a short 15 minute walk from Sheffield Train Station along the riverside. \nWhen: 9.30am – 4.30pm \nWhat to bring: Suitable clothing for a short outdoor river visit \nWhat to expect: Lunch (sandwiches and snacks) and refreshments (hot drinks) provided \nJoining us? All are welcome with priority given to existing volunteers. Email volunteer@dcrt.org.uk to book a place. \n
