DESCRIPTION:THE LOCATION FOR THIS VOLUNTEER DAY HAS CHANGED SO PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE INFO BELOW. \nJoin the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we help to remove the invasive plant species Himalayan Balsam from a tributary of the Dearne in a lovely private woodland. \n  \nWhen: Thursday 23rd July\, 10am – 1pm \n  \nWhere: We will be working through a private woodland on a small tributary to the River Dearne. We will be meeting at the lay by on Hollin Edge/Common Lane\, HD8 8YW. The layby is small so please car share/walk where possible. \nWhat 3 Words: https://w3w.co/lend.condensed.seat\nGoogle Maps Pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EKZsNddzm7oWoivT7 \n  \nWhat to expect: We will be working in the woodland\, pulling up Himalayan Balsam and leaving it in piles once we have snaped or crushed it below the bottom node. Paths are not paved and the woodland is steep. Please wear suitable footwear in particular and good mobility is needed. We will have a break at 11:30 for refreshments and biscuits\, provided by DCRT. \n  \nWhat to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. Even if it is warm weather\, it is advisable to cover up to protect against spiky plants and stings. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing volunteer@dcrt.org.uk to ensure we have your size. \n  \nJoining us? All are welcome however not all of our sites are completely accessible to all\, please check the access advice below.
