SUMMARY:Hexthorpe Ings – Wetland Restoration
DESCRIPTION:Hexthorpe Ings \n\n\nJoin the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we work to clear vegitation from the Hexthorpe Ings to improve the wetland. This day is a part of our All Hands on the Don project.  \nWhen: Tuesday 13th January 2026 10am-3pm \nWhere: We will be meeting near the entrance to the allotments\, next to the River Don at the end of Bramworth Road\, Doncaster\, DN4 0HW. \nWhat 3 words: ///drum.admits.nights. \nGoogle Maps Pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TZJS3xxMzC8D5r5g9 \nWhat to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day\, however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day\, but please let us know in advance by emailing volunteer@dcrt.org.uk or contacting Volunteering Officer Anthony Cox. Please bring your own packed lunch if you would like to stay for the whole day. \nWhat are we doing: On the day we will be removing scrub and trees to help the site reamain wet and prevent it from becoming woodland\, as well as increasing the sunlight reaching the wetland\, to help encourage more plants to grow and increase biodiversity. We will also use trees form the site to create a willow spoial fence along the site creating a living fence. \nJoining us? All are welcome\, however not all of our sites are completely accessible \, please check the access advice below.
