SUMMARY:Bullhouse Mill - Balsam Bash
DESCRIPTION:Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we help to remove the invasive plant species Himalayan Balsam from the River Don at Bullhouse Mill. \nWhen: Tuesday 7th July\, 10am – 1pm \n  \nWhere: We will be working along the River Don within the Bullhouse Mill area. There is free parking at the Mill itself and local buses stop on Lee Lane too. For parking\, please follow the one way signs past the factory entrance to the crescent car park.\nWhat 3 Words: https://w3w.co/workroom.tapers.pounding\nGoogle Maps Pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EcU34vYSfYP51euF9 \n  \nWhat to expect: We will be working along banks of the River Don\, pulling up Himalayan Balsam and leaving it in piles once we have snaped or crushed it below the bottom node. There are no public footpaths as we will be on private land. Therefore\, paths are unpaved and mostly on grassland and rocky river banks. There are toilets we will have access to in the factory. We will have a break at for refreshments and biscuits\, provided by DCRT. \n  \nWhat to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. Even if it is warm weather\, it is advisable to cover up to protect against spiky plants and stings. DESCRIPTION:Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust alongside Friends of Loxley Valley\, as we help to remove the invasive plant species Himalayan Balsam from the tributaries of the River Loxley in Sheffield. \n  \nWhen: Thursday 16th  July 2026 10am-1pm \n  \nWhere: We will be focusing our efforts on the Sykehouse Brook\, a tributary of the River Loxley above the Water Treatment Works and the old Brickworks. There is limited parking at Loxley Fisheries (here) or you can park along the derelict site at your own discretion (here).
