Over the past 12 years the Trust has played a key part in opening up the main Don to salmon by leading on several fish passage projects. Now, there are signs salmon are returning to the river to spawn, and we are looking for a new member of staff to be our first Fishery Habitat Officer and build on achievements.

Whilst a good working knowledge of fish species is required, this role is focused on improving river habitats for a broad variety of species. So, we are looking for someone that has good practical knowledge and experience of identifying habitat restoration opportunities, and turning them into active projects.

This role is being funded and supported by the Yorkshire Water Catchment Resilience Fund. As such you will be working towards the Catchment Based Approach and supporting the promotion of fishery improvement alongside colleagues from a range of organisations in the Don, Dearne and Rother Network.
