Jenny Palmer – Agricultural Officer

Appointed in July 2021, Jenny works as the Trust’s Agricultural Officer. Jenny has a farming background and lives within the lower Don catchment in Fishlake, near Doncaster.

Jenny’s role is to support landowners within the Don catchment to reduce water pollution from agriculture. Initially, her work will primarily focus on the Highways England Little Don natural flood management project.

Jenny has worked for a variety of organisations – including Natural England, the RSPB and the Malvern Hills Trust – working in agri-environment delivery, assessment and advisory roles. She’s also worked on National Lottery Heritage Funded projects, most recently with Barnsley Council and the South Yorkshire Biodiversity Research Group.

Jenny has a degree in Geography, awarded from the University of Nottingham. She also has a postgraduate certificate in Ecological Survey Techniques, awarded from the University of Oxford. Jenny has most recently studied for a BASIS Foundation in Agronomy with the University of Lincoln. Her intention is to progress onto the BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection.
