As part of Chesterfield Walking Festival, Debbie our NFM officer, will be guiding a walk around Grassmoor Country Park to explore a recently completed flood alleviation and habitat creation scheme. Find out how DCRT are using nature-friendly ways to catch and store water - reducing flood risk, protecting people and benefitting wildlife.

We will explore 4 different zones in the park that have been created to capture and store rainfall and runoff, reducing pressure on the local river network during heavy rainfall, and completing the circular park route with 360-degree views over Chesterfield.

We will be on and off path during this walk and it may be muddy underfoot so appropriate footwear is recommended. This walk is circular so we will finish back at the car park.
