Sandbed Weir – Clean Up

Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust to remove litter from in and around the River Don at Sandbed Weir. 

Task: Litter picking. We will be working both in channel and on the bankside removing litter and large fly tipped items. If the river levels allow, we will don some waders and remove the large items from the channel. This will require good strength and mobility. There will also be some picking to do along the bankside. We will have a break at 11:30 am for refreshments and biscuits, provided by DCRT.

When: Thursday 27th August 2026, 10am – 1pm

Where: Junction of Club Mill Road and Sandbed Road, S3 8AL
On street parking available. Bus stops on Penistone Road. Tram stops on Langsett Road.

What to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. We can provide wellingtons and waders to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected].
