Volunteer Day: Dalton
Dalton Brook ASDAAldwarke Ln, Rawmarsh, Rotherham S65 3SW, UKMeeting Point: Meet in the Asda overflow car-park with the recycling bins, situated next to the entrance to Aldwarke Lock, Dalton. We will be walking up to the site which is along Aldwarke Lane (a lay by leading down to the river).
Time: 10am – 1pm
Task: We will be conducting a clean up in the area of litter, removing debris that has built up.
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing including long trousers, long sleeves, sturdy boots and waterproofs if necessary.

Hydrology Training

The structure of this one-day course will involve a short classroom session followed by a visit to the river to see how to put what you’ve learned into practise. You’ll learn such things as how to place woody debris in the channel allowing the river to create microhabitats for spawning fish and invertebrates. This course is aimed at beginners and volunteers working in river management as well as anyone wanting to improve their knowledge.Training is free and all are welcome but please note that volunteers and staff to DCRT and relevant organisation will be given priority.
