Tasks: natural flood management – leaky dams

Timing: 10am – 3pm

The day will involve tasks such as leaky dam installation, maintenance and repairs. The leaky dams of various shapes and sizes help to slow the flow of storm waters contributing to a wider programme of interventions that aim to reduce flood risk in the area. The day will involve activities such as moving logs with lifting aids, sawing, digging, post bashing, and clearing debris that has built up behind the dams. All other equipment will be provided.
