    Hexthorpe Ings - Clean up

    Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we work to remove rubbish from the Hexthorpe Ings. This day is a part of the All Hands on the Don project.

    When: Tuesday 3rd December 2024 10am – 1pm

    Where: We will be meeting near the entrance to the allotments, next to the River Don at the end of Bramworth Road, Doncaster, DN4 0HW. What 3 words: ///drum.admits.nights. Google Maps Pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TZJS3xxMzC8D5r5g9

    What to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day, however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day, but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] or contacting Volunteering Officer Anthony Cox. 

    What are we doing: We will be removeing rubbish from the site that we uncovered last month while reinstating the circular foot path.

    Joining us? All are welcome, however not all of our sites are completely accessible , please check the access advice below.     Parkgate - Clean Up

    Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we help to clean up along the tow path of the canal and the river. 

     

    When: Wednesday 4th December 2024, 10am-1pm.

     

    Where: We will be meeting on Stonerow Way, next to the bridge over the railway. Parkgate, Rotherham S60 1SG

    There is a small amount of free parking adjacent to the footbridge

     

    What to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] to ensure we have your size. 

     

    What to expect: We will be walking along the paths by the river and canal, collecting litter and brining it back up to the road. We will aim to remove large items of litter from the river banks but will evaluate the safety of this on the day as this is the main river Don. We will have a break at 11:30 am for refreshments and biscuits, provided by DCRT.
