Don Aqueduct Heritage Walk
Barnby Dun Canal Car ParkForstead Land, Barnby Dun, DoncasterJoin the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we walk along the canal from Barnby Dun up to the Don Aqueduct and learn about the historical significance of the area and its structures. This event is a part of the All Hands on the Don project!
We will be heading from Barnby Dun along the Don Navigation Canal and the New Junction Canal to the Don Aqueduct. You will hear about the significance of the canals to Doncaster and the wider South Yorkshire region. Learn how and why the region has changed over time through the work of Cornelius Vermuyden and see some of the historic structures in the landscape. Please note we will be walking 3 miles along the canal which is mostly unpaved and has stiles and steps.

Time: Tuesday 16th September 2025 10am – 12:30pm (please note this is an estimate for the walk and this event may over run)
Meeting Location: We will be meeting in the car park just over the bridge from Barnby DUn off Forstead Lane. Barnby Dun Canal car park, Forstead Lane, Barnby Dun, Dn3 1EB. Please note there is limited parking in the carpark but theres lots of potential for street parking in Barnby Dun!
Access: The walk will take approximately 4.4 miles which should be 2 ½ to 3 hours at a leisurely pace, with frequent stops to take in heritage and wildlife.The route is not wholly accessible and sensible clothing and footwear is recommended.Well behaved dogs are welcome. - 1717.September.WednesdayNo events

Conisbrough Viaduct Heritage Walk
Conisbrough Railway StationConisbrough Railway Station, Conisbrough, Doncaster, DN12 3DQAs part of Heritage Open Days – Join DCRT for a walk looking at the architecture and the natural & historic hertiage of the River Don around Conisbrough.
Join DCRT on a guided circular walk from Conisbrough Railway Station, exploring architecture associated with the River Don and the wider heritage of the Don Gorge. Stops will take in, caves, castle views, the mighty Conisbrough Viaduct and more.

Dalton Brook - Clean Up
Dalton Parish HallCannot determine address at this location.Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust to remove litter (and shopping trollies) from in and around the Dalton Brook. Dalton Parish Council have kindly invited us to use the facilities in their hall. They have a community cafe from 9-12pm so feel free to come along early to enjoy some refreshments.
Task: Litter picking. We will be working along the bankside and within the brook to remove litter.

Crimpsall Sluice - Mural Protective Coating Application

We can also provide a boilersuit for painting if you let us know you are coming in advance. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] or contacting task leader Anthony Cox. We also provide a tea kit for refreshments on the day, please let us know in advance if you have any alergies so we can cater for this.
