What can I expect?
Training involves an indoor classroom session as well as a practical survey of a nearby river, teaching you the kick-sampling method for riverflies.
We will go over identification of riverflies, health & safety, and how the data you collect is used to monitor river health.
Volunteering
This training is provided to you for free thanks to generous funding from Sheaf & Porter Rivers Trust and ongoing support from Don Catchment Rivers Trust.
Volunteering after the training is a commitment of ideally one river survey a month between the months of April-November.
