Volunteer Training: Open Water Safety

Sign up to our one day open-water awareness course led by David Adams from River-Mountain-Experience.
Training held at Voluntary Action Rotherham with a short walk to Centenary Riverside park. 

Learn about the dangers of working near rivers, how to keep a volunteer team safe and what to do in an emergency. We’ll be learning how to help someone that enters the water, practising how to use throw-lines and demonstrating the use of life-jackets. There will also be some training in what personal protective equipment should be worn when working in the water and how to use and maintain it.

    What to expect: A mixture of introductory demonstrations and practice exercises to get you familiar with the software interface and how to upload data to create your own maps. No previous experience required!
