Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we help to clean up the river Rother along Tapton Terrace in Chesterfield.

When: Thursday 18th January 2024, 10am-1pm.

Where: Meeting at the end of Holbeck Close, Chesterfield, S41 7UL. This is the location for the Holbeck Close days but we will meet here again and walk down towards Tapton Terrace as it is easier to leave the van there.

PARKING – please note there is no parking on Holbeck Close, however pay-by-machine (cash-only) parking is available at the Brimington Road Car Park nearby.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT – the day is a short walk from Chesterfield Railway Station.

What to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] or contacting task leader Charlotte Landry-Jennings. We also provide a tea break for refreshments.

    What to expect: We will be working along the paths by the river, collecting litter and brining it back up to the road. We will aim to remove large items of litter from the river banks/in the river but will evaluate the safety of this on the day. We will have a break at 11:30 am for refreshments and biscuits, provided by DCRT.
