Volunteer Training – Identify & Survey Bats

An evening course delivered by Principal Ecologist and bat expert Robert Bell on how to identify, record and survey the bat species found around rivers in Chesterfield. The evening will finish with a dusk bat walk around the river Hipper and Walton Dam, where we will practise using bat detectors to identify different species by their characteristic sounds.

Training will take place at the St Thomas Centre meeting room 1. There is free on site parking and refreshments will be provided.

    What to expect: A mixture of introductory demonstrations and practice exercises to get you familiar with the software interface and how to upload data to create your own maps. No previous experience required!

     

    Refreshments provided and there will be a break for lunch.
