Hydromorphology is the study of the physical characteristics of rivers and how they interact with water flow and sediment transport.
It plays a crucial role in river restoration by helping us understand how rivers function naturally, and how to restore them to a more natural state.
This training delivered by Sam Austin from the River Restoration Centre and will be a full day introduction to the subject.
Where: Aizlewood Mills, Nursery Street, Sheffield with an a river visit
Meeting at: There are some car parks in the area, however parking nearby can be tricky, so we really do recommend public transport, walking or cycling. The training centre is a short 15 minute walk from Sheffield Train Station along the riverside.
When: 9.30am – 4.30pm
What to bring: Suitable clothing for a short outdoor river visit
What to expect: Lunch (sandwiches and snacks) and refreshments (hot drinks) provided
