CANCELLED Wildlife Wednesdays – Moss Valley

DUE TO STAFF SHORTAGES WE HAVE HAD TO CANCEL THIS EVENT. WE EXPECT THINGS WILL BE BACK TO NORMAL FOR NEXT WEEK. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED.

 

Join Don Catchment Rivers Trust for a volunteer day removing the invasive weed Himalayan Balsam from the Moss Brook Catchment. All abilities welcome!

If you would like to join our events and are new to the Trust, please email [email protected] to get signed up!

Location: Please note, the location may change each week so you need to email [email protected] for details each week of where we are meeting.

What to bring: We will provide all necessary equipment and refreshments. All you need to wear is appropriate outdoor clothing (waterproof, long sleeves and trousers – really reccomended for the nettles!!) and sturdy shoes. Also bring your own pair of wellies if you have them. We will have a range of sizes to borrow but can’t guarantee a pair for everyone. 

Tasks include: Himalayan Balsam pulling 

Timings: 10am – 3pm (break 11.30am and 1pm for lunch)

    Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we work to remove litter from the Car Brook in Handsworth

     

    When: Tuesday 9th July 2024 10am – 1pm

     

    Where: Near Carbrook Ravine Nature Reserve. Exact location of meeting point to be updated asap - check back.

    What to expect: We will be walking along the paths in the wood, collecting litter and brining it back up to the road. We will have a break at 11:30 am for refreshments and biscuits, provided by DCRT.

    When: Wednesday 10th July, 10am - 1pm

    Where: We will be meeting in the Ford Wheel Dam car park, S12 3YD

Even if it is warm weather, it is advisable to cover up to protect against spiky plants and stings. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] to ensure we have your size.

We will have a break at for refreshments and biscuits, provided by DCRT. With it being a longer session, you are more than welcome to bring along lunch.
