The Working River – aerial photos and historical paintings of the River Don’s industry – from Doncaster Toffee to steam locomotives to Kilner Jars!
Celebrating returning wildlife and top predators such as pike and otter that indicate a healthy river system
Our trustee Chris Firth MBE pictured holding a salmon discovered in the River Don in 1994. It was the first sign that salmon were trying to return to the River Don, after many decades of absence. This discovery sparked new conservation efforts to help their migration.

Our interactive exhibit meant visitors could sense the river Don, from temperature to sight and even smell!
The Landscape Visualisation helped visitors see how the course of the River Don has changed over many centuries – showing the old, natural course of the River Don and the river today.

A huge thank you to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for funding the project exhibition and Doncaster Museum & Archives for hosting us, helping with install and allowing us to delve into the archives!
