10:00 -13:00 04-06-19 Rotherham Trades Club, Greasbrough Rd, Rotherham S60 1RB, UK  Join the Friends of the Don Valley Way as the tackle the Himalayan Balsam on the bank of the River Don. There will be a break for refreshments in the middle of the day which are provided. We will be meeting at 10:00am and finishing at 1:00pm, and will be meeting on Bridge Street near the Chapel. 10:00 -15:00 05-06-19 1 Ridgeway Moor, Ridgeway, Sheffield S12 3XY, UK  Join Don Catchment Rivers Trust volunteer days aimed at restoring the riverine environment. All abilities welcome! Timings: 10am – 3pm with a break for lunch and refreshments. Feel free to come to part of the day if required. What to bring: We will provide all necessary equipment and refreshments. All you need to wear is appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes. Tasks include: We will be concentrating on removing the invasive weed Himalayan Balsam all along the Moss catchment by pulling up the plant which has very shallow root systems. Location: The meeting point will change each week depending on how far along the river we have made progress. Location: Derby Road end, just next to the Derbyshire Times building. What to bring: We will provide all necessary equipment and refreshments. All you need to wear is appropriate outdoor clothing (waterproof, long sleeves and trousers) and sturdy shoes. Tasks include: Litter picking, debris removal, vegetation maintenance, invasive species management and access improvements. Timings: Day runs 10am – 1pm but feel free to come whenever suits.
