10:00 -13:00 07-04-20 Stonerow Way, Parkgate, Rotherham S60 1TG, UK  Join the Friends of the Don Valley Way as we litter pick the canal toe path behind Parkgate shopping center in Rotherham. We will be meeting at 10am on Stonerow Way behind the shopping center near the footbridge that crosses the railway line, and finishing at 1pm with a break half way through for refreshments. 10:00 -15:00 15-04-20 1 Ridgeway Moor, Ridgeway, Sheffield S12 3XY, UK  Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust for Wildlife Wednesday’s in the Moss Valley every third Wednesday of the month. These volunteer days aimed at restoring the riverine environment. All abilities welcome! Timings: 10am – 3pm with a break for lunch and refreshments. Feel free to come to part of the day if required. What to bring: We will provide all necessary equipment and refreshments. All you need to wear is appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes. Tasks include: scrub/vegetation clearance, wood debris placement, footpath maintenance, habitat creation and access improvements. Location: The meeting point will change each week depending on what task we will be doing. 07:00 -10:00 16-04-20 Join Russ Headley for a short training course where you’ll learn how to identify birds by sound and sight! We’ll be meeting early in the morning to experience the Dawn Chorus!

We will be meeting at 10am outside the Chapel on the Bridge, and finishing at 1pm with a break half way through for refreshments. | 22 - Volunteer Training: Identify & Survey Bats
18:15 -21:15 22-04-20 7 New St, Grassmoor, Chesterfield S42 5EE, UK An evening course delivered by Principal Ecologist and bat expert Robert Bell on how to identify, record and survey the bat species found around the rivers in Chesterfield. The evening will finish with a dusk bat walk around the river Rother and the Avenue Washlands, where we will practise using bat detectors to identify different species by their characteristic sounds.
