Hedgelaying Training (must book)
David Clayton's Farm NFMAve Farm, ChesterfieldAn all day course on the traditional craft of hedgelaying, led by professional hedgelayer, Jasper Prachek.
A limited number of spaces are available for DCRT volunteers on a hedgelaying course on farmland in Grassmoor, Chesterfield. The training will take place on a final section of hedgerow that is being laid as part of our work to help slow flood flows and boost biodiversity on farmland near the Avenues. This will be physical work using traditional tools such as billhooks, axes and hand saws. We hope to lay more hedges as part of future projects in the Chesterfield area and expect any volunteers who take part in the training to continue to help with this work.
