Newfield Spring Woods (Moss Valley) - NFM Volunteer Day (must book)

Timing: 10am – 3pm
The day will involve tasks such as leaky dam installation, maintenance and repairs. The leaky dams of various shapes and sizes help to slow the flow of storm waters contributing to a wider programme of interventions that aim to reduce flood risk in the area. The day will involve activities such as moving logs with lifting aids, sawing, digging, post bashing, and clearing debris that has built up behind the dams. It is quite physical work so please do join us if you like getting your hands dirty and having a good work out! All abilities welcome but please do contact us if you have any concerns and would like further info. Long sleeves, trousers and waterproofs are recommended. All other equipment will be provided.
There are a limited number of spaces available so you will need to book on to sessions in advance.

Meadow Way - Volunteer Day
15 Meadow Way, Swinton, Mexborough S64 8BE, UKJoin the Friends of the Don Valley Way as we litter pick along the footpaths of the River Don at Meadow Way in Swinton.
On the day we will be meeting at 10am and finishing at 1pm. We will complete a risk assessment on the day to ensure the safety of all volunteers. We will be stopping half way through for a tea break. On the day you will need to bring appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. We can provide wellingtons and waders however we won’t be able to provide footwear for every volunteer.

Meadow Sowing at Grassmoor Country Park

We’ll be sowing meadow seed onto the newly created features in the park that will help slow the flow of storm waters into the river network and diversify the wildlife habitat within the park.When: Saturday 22nd October, 10am-1pm
