Newfield Spring Woods (Moss Valley) – NFM Volunteer Day (must book)

24-10-22 10:00 - 15:00
Newfield Spring Woods
Address: Cannot determine address at this location.

Tasks: natural flood management – leaky dams

Timing: 10am – 3pm

The day will involve tasks such as leaky dam installation, maintenance and repairs. The leaky dams of various shapes and sizes help to slow the flow of storm waters contributing to a wider programme of interventions that aim to reduce flood risk in the area. The day will involve activities such as moving logs with lifting aids, sawing, digging, post bashing, and clearing debris that has built up behind the dams. It is quite physical work so please do join us if you like getting your hands dirty and having a good work out! All abilities welcome but please do contact us if you have any concerns and would like further info. Long sleeves, trousers and waterproofs are recommended. All other equipment will be provided.

There are a limited number of spaces available so you will need to book on to sessions in advance.
