Roots: Rotherham Street Carnival

13-04-24 11:00 - 16:00
Chapel on the Bridge
Address: Rotherham Trades Club, Greasbrough Rd, Rotherham S60 1RB, UK

Rotherham Council, along with Emergency Exist Arts and Children’s Capital of Culture are organising a big parade and hosting stalls in Rotherham Town Centre on Saturday 13th April 2024. The carnival will explore and shine a light on nature, our environment and climate change. This year the theme is around the River Don and Rotherham’s waterways. Two giant puppets, Reign and Farrah the Fox will be there to shine a spotlight on the beauty and importance of the River Don. Get ready for handheld puppets, interactive displays, dazzling costumes, and lively dance and music performances.

The whole event runs from 11am to 4pm, with the parade itself happening between 1pm and 2pm.

DCRT will be present at the event, looking at invertebrates from kick samples taken from the River Don. Come and say hello at our stall to look at some of the living species found within the river, or simply to have a chat with us about our projects or ways to get involved!

*NOTE: Location is approximate and will be updated nearer to the time of the event so check back*
