The Don Catchment Rivers Trust will have a stall at the Family BioBlitz Day at Shire Brook Valley Nature Reserve. We will be on the Shire Brook river dipping, counting up all the different invertebrate species we can find.
BioBlitz’s are family events where are are trying to discover as many species of plants, animals and fungi as possible within 24 hours! This helps us learn about the nature in the site and can help inform future schedules of work. This is a fun way for families to learn about nature, with the help of lots of experts.
Our river dipping session will take place in the Brook so if you want to have a go at dipping yourself, please come in wellies. We will be dipping between 11am and 1pm. All nets and other equipment will be provided. Other activities will be happening all over the site so please look at this website for further information. Head over to the visitor centre to start and they can tell you where everything is.

Where: Shire Brook Valley Nature Reserve, Stone Lane, S13 7BR
