All equipment will be provided but please wear long trousers, sturdy shoes and bring waterproofs. We will bring the tea, coffee and biscuits! We offer volunteer expenses for public transport and vehicle mileage.

Meeting point: Forge Island car-park, meet on the left hand-side by the canal. We’ll be walking together with our equipment to the tow-path we’ll be working on.

    Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we work to remove litter from the river Rother just downstream of Canklow Woods, Rotherham.

     

    When: Thursday 9th May 2024, 10am – 1pm

     

    Where: The junction of Canklow Road and Jubilee Street, S60 2JQ

    What to bring: We provide all of the equipment on the day however please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work including sturdy shoes or boots and long trousers. We can provide wellingtons to borrow on the day but please let us know in advance by emailing [email protected] to ensure we have your size. 

     

    What to expect: We will be walking along the paths along the river, collecting litter and brining it back up to the road. We will have a break at 11:30 am for refreshments and biscuits, provided by DCRT. 

     

    Joining us? All are welcome however not all of our sites are completely accessible to all, please check the access advice below. Please let us know if you are coming as a new volunteer so we can plan accordingly by emailing [email protected] or contacting project volunteer officer Charlotte Landry-Jennings 07561588275.

    Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we work to remove litter near the river Rother along Wain Avenue, Chesterfield 

     

    When: Thursday 16th May 2024, 10am – 1pm

     

    Where: Meet near the junction of Camlough Walk and Wain Avenue. The van will be just up Camlough lane where there is free parking/no double yellow lines.
