Back in October 2023, Stocksbridge weir was removed from the River Don as part of the effort to improve fish passage and overall river health. Next, there is some final adjustments needed on site. Tasks include:

    • Soil and seed spreading
    • Barrowing
    • In-channel wading
    • Using handtools to install large woody debris as bank erosion
    • Litter picks

We will provide all necessary equipment, refreshments and can also cover the cost of travel.

location: Stocksbridge (Deepcar) weir, S35 7DA
