    Volunteer Day - Friends of the Don Valley Way - River Rother Canklow

    Join the Friends of the Don Valley Way as they clean up the banks of the River Rother in Canklow. We will be meeting at 10am in a parking are just off Bawtry road (A631) near Canklow Roundabout, and finishing at 1pm with a break for refreshments half way through.

    Please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work.

    Queens Park Volunteer Day

    Join Don Catchment Rivers Trust for a volunteer day cleaning-up the Hipper. All abilities welcome!

    Location: Queen’s Park, Chesterfield S40 2BF. Meeting on the footpath, near the gated entrance to the river just behind the cafe. Metered parking off boythorpe road, volunteers can claim expenses.

    What to bring: We will provide all necessary equipment and refreshments. All you need to wear is appropriate outdoor clothing (waterproof, long sleeves and trousers) and sturdy shoes.

    Tasks include: Litter picking, debris removal, vegetation maintenance, invasive species management and access improvements.

    Timings: Day runs 10am – 1pm but feel free to come whenever suits. We have a tea break around 11.30am.

    Autumnal Walk at Westwood

    Look for fungi, collect conkers and enjoy a spooky walk through the Westwood this Autumn, led by the DCRT team.

    This walk includes steep slopes and hills, including steps and bridges – sadly this walk is not suitable for those with mobility issues or using scooters, wheelchairs or pushchairs. Little ones can make a pine cone bat to take home at the end of the walk. Please wear sturdy walking boots and be prepared to explore the woods and Trough brook.
