Low cost baffles

Low cost baffles offer a fish passage solution on weirs where it is too difficult to install a more technical fish, or where the cost is too great. Low cost baffles work by incrementally pushing the water up to create steps in the water column which fish are able to tackle one at a time, whilst still providing enough flow for fish to pass over.

A series of Low-Cost Baffles (LCB) were installed at Bolton upon Dearne Weir and Old Moor Weir.
