Parkgate - Volunteer Day
Stonerow Way, Parkgate, Rotherham S60 1SG, UKStonerow Way, Parkgate, Rotherham S60 1SG, UKJoin the Friends of the Don Valley Way as we work to clean up the Don Valley Way along the tow path of the canal.
On the day we will be meeting at 10am and finishing at 1pm. We will be meeting on Stonerow way, next to the bridge over the railway. We will complete a risk assessment on the day to ensure the safety of all volunteers. We will be stopping half way through for a tea break. On the day you will need to bring appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. We can provide wellingtons and waders however we won’t be able to provide footwear for every volunteer.

Hollingwood Loops - Litter Pick
Hollingwood loops (New Whittington)New Whittington, Chesterfield S43 2BZJoin the Don Catchment Rivers Trust for a volunteer day to improve walking routes along River Rother. All abilities welcome!
Timings: 10am – 3pm with a break in the morning and for lunch. Feel free to come to part of the day if required.
What to bring: We will provide all necessary equipment and refreshments. All you need to wear is appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes. Bring lunch if you’re staying out the whole day.
Tasks include:We’ll be doing some vegetation clearance along a riverside path using hand tools. We’ll also be doing our usual sweep with a litter picker.

Mexborough Railway Station - Volunteer Day
Mexborough Railway StationOld Denaby, Mexborough S64 9AQJoin the Friends of the Don Valley Way as we litterpick along the River Don near Mexborough Railway Station.
We will be meeting at 10am and finishing at 1pm with a break for refreshments half way through. We will complete a risk assessment on the day to assure the safety of all volunteers. Please wear suitable clothing for outdoor work.

Outdoor First Aid Course
A 2-day accredited qualification in outdoor first aid with River Mountain Experience where volunteers can learn how to confidently deal with emergency situations.
The qualification lasts 3 years.Volunteers must be available on both days to join the course, 9-6pm.
