Don Discovery Bioblitz: River Don Bat Walk

10-08-17 20:30 - 22:00
Club Mill Rd, Sheffield S6, UK
Address: Club Mill Rd, Sheffield S6, UK

Led by Alistair McLean (Curator of Natural Science for Museums Sheffield) and Kate Denton, Bat expert from the University of Greenwich, this evening walk along the River Don will involve detecting and identifying bat species with specialist equipment as they fly and forage above the water. Look out for the rare & wonderful Daubenton’s bats, which fly inches from the water’s surface to catch their insect prey! Remember to bring a torch and wear sensible shoes/clothing for an evening walk.

email [email protected] to reserve a place and for more details. This walk may be cancelled in the event of rainy weather.

The bat walk is now fully booked but you can join us at Wardsend in the day for many other Bioblitz walks, talks and activities!
