Youngsters can book in for an introduction to fishing taster session. This activity is being sponsored by by the Canal & River Trust, who will also have their ‘Explorer’ educational activities on site. THIS ACTIVITY IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.

Don Catchment Rivers Trust will be unveiling the new ‘Don Valley Way’ walking trail and heritage walks.

‘Wyre Lady’ will be running free 1 hour trips at 10:30am, 12 noon and 2:00pm.

There will be community stalls so you can explore what is happening on the river – Don Gorge Community Group, River Stewardship Company (with displays about their work on Invasive Species), the Environment Agency Flood Resilience team, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and local wood carver Andy Rounthwaite.

Trans Pennine Trail will be leading a family bike ride, a walking circus & free bike maintenance. For information about Trans Pennine Trail activities at the event please click here

The 219 & 219a bus from Doncaster Interchange stops in Sprotbrough village two times per hour. Event car parking can be found at The Boat Inn and at Sprotbrough Country Club on Main Street.

    We can provide a lift from our office on Wheatley Hall Road or Doncaster train station at the start and end of the day, if you let us know in advance.

    Where: Nursery Lane Car Park, near the Boat Inn with a short walk to the Salmon Pass.

    If you are between the ages of 13-15, please ask your parent/guardian to get in touch to complete a parental consent form. You can come along without a parent, however we do require signed permission from a parent or guardian in advance.

    If you are aged 16+ please let the DCRT team know if you wish to help out on our events so we can get you signed up as a volunteer. Written permission is not required but please let your parent or guardian know you are planning on attending and give them our details.

    Sign up for a Bat Walk around the River Don and Don Ponds, near Burcorft Hill in Conisbrough 

    Watch and learn how these incredible nocturnal predators hunt for prey and navigate around the landscape using a special kind of sonar.

    We will be looking for different species of bats, using bat detectors to hear their fantastic calls (which the human ear cannot detect!).

    Access:
    The walk is very short and on flat ground, but please be aware we will be walking at night. Please let us know of any access requirements when booking a place.
    Lanterns will be provided for attendees. Please wrap up warm!
