We will be using bat detectors to listen to the bat’s calls as they hunt for insects! Sally Hyslop will be leading a Bat Walk in Spital Cemetery and for a short way along the Rother and Hipper Rivers. Booking is essential as numbers are limited. Please email [email protected] to book. We will meet at the Tool House (53.232169, -1.415337) which is a short distance inside the cemetery from the top gates (53.232770, -1.414984). Parking is available on Cemetery Road and inside the cemetery along the avenue of lime trees which lead from the Top Gates to the Chapels. Please wear sturdy shoes. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. This walk is free but donations to the work of the Friends of Spital Cemetery would be gratefully received. Refreshments will be available. An event as part of National Cemeteries Week Related upcoming events Christmas Walk - St Oswalds Church, Kirk Sandall 17-12-24 10:30 - 17-12-24 13:30 Join the Don Catchment Rivers Trust as we go on a festive walk along the River Don and the Canal in Doncaster. This walk will be a distance of roughly 4.7 miles. All abilities are welcome however we are likley to be walking through feilds with livestock in them so dogs are not advised to come on these walks. We will also have to cross some stiles on this walk. Where: We will be meeting in the car park at St Oswalds Church in Kirk Sandall where we will also finish the walk (please note that parking is limited so please share a vehicle where possible or use public transport). What to bring: Please wear suitable clothing for the weather and for walking. The surface is mostly unpaved soplease ensure you bring walking boots or shoes to wear. You will need to bring along your own water and sandwich if you would like one. We will also provide a warm drink at the end of the walk. Public Transport Information: Kirk Sandall Railway station is only a short walk from the start point of walk. There is a train from Doncaster at 9:05am which should arrive in Kirk Sandall by 10:11am which allows pleanty of tme to walk to the meeting point. Alternativley you can catch the number 474 bus to Barnby Dun and get off near Kirk Sandall Station.
